The healing power of pets through the Delta Society’s Pet Partners program will soon be experienced by more people in nursing homes, hospitals and schools around the world, thanks to a donation from Nestlé Purina PetCare.
Purina has donated $400,000, the largest donation ever received by the nonprofit organization, to help Delta Society screen and train Pet Partner volunteers and their pets and to expand the number of teams. These volunteers — currently 10,000 strong — donate their time to improve the health and well-being of young and old alike through positive interactions with animals.
