The Thrill of the "Chase"

The rescue story about Chase is truly thrilling. I had been informed by a local veterinary office that a dog had been dumped at a very busy intersection. Many people were worried about him! They tried to catch him, but this beautiful boy did not trust anyone. It was also early March and the nights were bitter cold. Chase would curl up in the cold grass to sleep. We were on a mission!

My husband, myself, and a friend spent hours trying to earn his trust. After seven days and no luck, a friend set a live trap for Chase. The next morning we set out to try to catch him. We were starting to get discouraged, and then to our surprise he walked right into the trap. We did not know what to expect when we reached in to get him. He was a DOLL! It was like he was relieved.

We took Chase to the vet for a complete check-up. He had some cuts, many ticks and fleas, was thin, but otherwise in good health. The vet boarded Chase until we could find a foster. He participated in “doggy day care” and had a blast! Talk about a “Rally to Rescue!” Many people worked together to save Chase. Chase was adopted by a wonderful couple. He now sleeps on the couch and takes walks every day with his new family and dog friend. We are so happy for Chase!
